You know how everyone gets shitty and makes really confusing career moves when they're older? Like Bob Dylan in a commercial for Cadillac SUVs, etc. etc. and it seems like the only way you stay cool is if you die young?
I like to think about those people and what they'd be doing that sucks had they lived. Like Jean-Michel Basquiat. I think he'd have an early morning call-in public radio show called Talk Yacht with Basquiat. Where they just talk about yachts. And there's nothing ironic about it. Or is there? No. There isn't. But isn't that ironic?

I haven't updated since April, damn. I guess I don't have much to say anymore. all of my writing efforts are expended having to explain to homeowners why, exactly, I can't allow the replacement of their granite counter tops or exchange their brass drain stop for one in oil-rubbed bronze at no cost to them.
I leave for pittsburgh in three weeks. dgfkhdfghs!!! yay! too bad none of you hail from the area. we could totally meet up at primanti's or some shit.

so, I haven't updated since christmas....not that anyone noticed. I really don't have anything of merit to say here, but I will, on occasion, offer up the fruits of my wisdom to all of you dear purveyors of this nasty little habit we call livejournal.
today's lesson? don't expect other people to care when you don't feel well, be it physically or mentally. in the end, no one really gives a shit. okay, maybe your mother or your significant other will care - they will, at the very least, feign interest/concern - but please do not expect your schoolyard chums or your coworkers/boss(es) to give a plague-infected rat's ass about your mental or physical health.
ohh, and don't trust whitey.

Actually, it was Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" on the US charts and Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called To Say I Love You" on the UK charts (which was, ironically, the song that was playing when I was born - according to my dad). My birth day rules hard.
